How To Redeem a Code on Steam - Activate Game Key
If you're an avid gamer, you've probably heard of Steam, the digital distribution platform for PC gaming. Steam offers a massive library of games for users to purchase, download and play, but did you know that you can also activate game keys or redeem codes on Steam to unlock games that you've already purchased or received as a gift? Redeeming a code on Steam is a straightforward process that can be done in just a few simple steps. In this tutorial, we'll guide you through how to redeem a code on Steam so you can start playing your favorite games immediately.
Activate a Game Key in Steam
Open up your Steam client and navigate to your game Library. You can follow the same steps using the browser version. Click Add a Game on the bottom left of your window from here. Select Activate a Product on Steam.
You will then need to agree to the Steam subscriber agreement and you can then enter the Product Code from here. After entering the code, Steam will check if it’s correct, and if so, your new game will show up in your Steam library.
How To Add Non-Steam Game
You can also add locally installed non-Steam games to your library if you don’t have a product key, but the game is already installed locally. Navigate back to Add a Game and select Add a Non-Steam Game.
You will be presented with a list of programs and games installed on your PC. Select the game you wish to add, in this example, the Roblox Player.
Click on Add Selected Programs and the Roblox Player will then be added to my Steam library.
Right-click the game and select Properties. This will allow you to change its name, preview icon, and more.
