How to fix Random FPS Drops in Lost Ark
Lost Ark is a visually stunning MMORPG that offers a rich gaming experience. With its immersive gameplay, captivating story, and stunning graphics, it's no surprise that Lost Ark has become one of the most popular games in recent years. However, as with any game, players may experience random FPS drops, causing frustration and ruining the gameplay experience. In this article, we'll explore some of the most common causes of FPS drops in Lost Ark and provide the best solutions to fix them. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer to the game, this guide will help you enjoy Lost Ark at its best.
Use Lost Ark Auto Optimization
Launch Lost Ark and navigate to your settings. In the Video tab, look at your Auto Optimization option, which will prioritize the Video settings to Quality or Performance. When experiencing FPS drops, then make sure to set this slider to Performance. This will change your video settings while in-game without having to go over them when experiencing low performance or frame rate issues.
Update Graphics Card Driver
Ensure your graphics driver is up to date. We suggest using the GeForce Experience application if you’re using an NVIDIA GPU, but you can also use the AMD driver suite. In the Drivers tab, click on Download and the application will automatically download and install the latest driver.
Enable NVIDIA Image Scaling
If the problem is related to your system performance, you might need to lower your in-game graphics settings. We suggest enabling NVIDIA Image Scaling, which will greatly increase your performance. To do so, you should use the GeForce Experience application. In your Settings, scroll down and enable the Image Scaling option. This will boost your overall frame rates when playing a game on your PC.
Windows Operating System Update
Search for Update to open up your Check for updates system settings window. Here, click on Check for updates, and after downloading the latest OS update, restart your PC.
Adjust the Game Compatibility Options
Open up your File Explorer and navigate to the drive on which you saved the game on Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Lost Ark > Binaries > Win64. Right-click the LOSTARK.exe application and go to its Properties.
Ensure you’re in the Compatibility tab and select Disable Fullscreen Optimizations and apply your changes.
Adjust the Windows Display Settings
Right-click your desktop and select Display Settings.
Ensure the scaling is set to 100% and that you’re using a normal native resolution. In your in-game graphics settings, set the window mode to Fullscreen.
