Open up your Blizzard / BattleNet launcher. Select Call of Duty Modern Warfare and navigate to Settings. Select Game Settings.

In your file explorer navigate to the drive on which you saved the game on: Program Files > Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Delete everything in the folder, except BlizzardBrowser, Data, and Main

Delete the Call of Duty Modern Warfare folder, except from BlizzardLauncher, Data and Main

In your file explorer, navigate to your Documents > Call of Duty Modern Warfare and here, delete the players folder as well.

Lastly, go back to your blizzard launcher, open up the options for the game, and select Scan and Repair. This will re-download any missing or corrupted game files, including all of the files which have been previously deleted. You should be able to play the game without getting the DirectX error message when this is done.
