Discord Mobile - How To Fix No Incoming Sound

Discord is an essential communication platform for gamers and non-gamers alike. However, it can be frustrating when you encounter issues with no incoming sound. You could miss crucial conversations, messages, and alerts that would help you to stay updated and connected. If you've faced this problem, don't worry; we have some easy fixes. This tutorial will show you how to troubleshoot no incoming sound issues on Discord mobile.

Change your Discord mobile Settings

Open up your Discord mobile application. Tap on your profile icon, and under App Settings, tap on Voice.

Make sure that the Volume Output slider is set to at least 50%.

When this is done, toggle the Voice Processing settings below to troubleshoot which could induce the issue. Turn Noise Suppression, Echo Cancellation, Noise Reduction, Automatic Gain Control, and Advanced Voice Activity on and off.

Delete the r5apex.exe application in your file explorer.

Close Applications running in the background

You should then completely exit the application and others, as these can utilize your microphone or play a sound. The audio issue should be fixed if you use a reliable network connection.

Close apps on your iPhone or Android device

Disable Bluetooth Connection

If not, then you might have a hardware configuration issue. Ensure no wireless speaker, headphones or mic is connected to your device. To troubleshoot this step, I suggest disabling Bluetooth completely.

Update Discord Application in App Store

Ensure you are using the latest update of Discord. In your App Store, look up Discord and ensure the application is up to date.

  • You can try several fixes such as checking audio settings, restarting the app, clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, and updating the app.

  • Yes, you can use Discord Mobile without headphones. However, it's recommended to use headphones to ensure better audio quality and to avoid disturbing others around you.

  • You may hear an echo on Discord Mobile due to several reasons such as issues with your audio settings, microphone, or speaker.
