Rocket League - Not Launching on Epic Games Fix
If you're a fan of Rocket League, you might have run into the frustrating issue of the game not launching on Epic Games. This can be a frustrating experience, especially if you're looking to dive into the high-octane world of rocket-powered cars and soccer. Fortunately, there are several fixes that you can try to get the game up and running again. This article will explore some of the most common solutions and help you troubleshoot the issue. So, whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, read on to learn how to fix Rocket League not launching problem on the Epic Games launcher.
Allow Rocket League to Bypass the Firewall
Ensure your anti-virus application and firewall are not blocking parts of the software. Search for Firewall in your taskbar search to open up your Firewall & Network Protection system settings window. On the window, select to Allow an app through firewall.
Select to Change settings, and Allow another app. Select Browse, and your file explorer will open up. Navigate to the drive on which you saved the game on, program files, Rocket League, binaries, Win64, and select the RocketLeague application and select Open. This will allow you to exclude the application from being blocked by your firewall and will, for some users, prevent the issue.
Verify the Integrity of the Rocket League Game Files
Ensure your game files are not corrupted and are up to date. In your Epic Games launcher, navigate to your library and open the Rocket League menu. Select Verify. Redownloading and replacing any missing or corrupted game files will take a minute.
Close Resource-Intensive Processes
Prevent specific applications from running when trying to launch Rocket League, as these could change your game files or trigger a crash on startup. Open up your Task Manager, and in your Processes tab, stop the processes from running, which could show an overlay, such as Steam, Origin, your browser running in the background, or discord. You should also prevent applications that could change your game files in any way, such as CCleaner, and programs that could use up your available RAM and VRAM, such as Adobe applications.
Optimize the Rocket League Properties
Open up your file explorer and navigate to the drive you saved Rocket League on. Go to: program files > Rocket League > binaries > Win64. Right-click RocketLeague to get to its Properties.
On the window, navigate to the Compatibility tab, select: Run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7, and disable fullscreen optimizations. Don’t forget to apply your changes.
Update Graphics Card Driver
Lastly, ensure that your graphics driver and operating system are current. We suggest using the GeForce Experience application for an NVIDIA GPU, but you can also use the AMD driver suite. This tweak can make the most significant difference depending on how frequently you update your GPU. In the Drivers tab, click Download, and the application will automatically download and install the latest driver.
Windows OS Update
Search for Update to open up your Check for updates system settings window. Click on Check for updates, and after downloading the latest OS update, restart your PC. When this is done, you should restart your PC for your changes to take effect.
